The Overnight Oats Combo That Keeps Breakfast Interesting

A nostalgic combo of peanut butter and strawberries in an easy overnight protein oats breakfast .

There are two kinds of breakfasts.

The aspirational ones you save on TikTok and never make.
And the ones that quietly become part of your routine because they’re easy, filling, and taste good enough to repeat.

Overnight oats usually fall into the second category and this version leans fully into that energy: peanut butter, berries, creamy oats, and a little PB&J nostalgia, upgraded into something that works for busy mornings.

Why Overnight Oats Keep Winning

At this point, overnight oats have survived every wellness trend for one simple reason: they’re practical.

You make them once. You grab them later. No blender. No pan. No thinking required before coffee.

And when mornings are rushed, that kind of simplicity matters more than perfection.

Ingredients

  • 1¼ cups quick or rolled oats
  • ¼ cup chia seeds
  • 1–2 tbsp honey
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 5g (roughly 1 heaped tsp) creatine monohydrate
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 1 tsp beet powder
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • Stewed strawberries or strawberry jam

How to make it

  1. Mix the oats and chia seeds with the milk, honey, protein powder, beet powder, creatine, vanilla extract, and salt.
  2. Add more milk if needed, then leave the oats to soak until thick and creamy.
  3. Once ready, layer into jars with runny peanut butter and cooled stewed strawberries or jam.
  4. Top with berry powder and serve cold.

Why this works in real life

Some breakfasts feel healthy but leave you hungry an hour later. Others feel convenient but taste disappointing.

This sits nicely in the middle:

  • quick to prep
  • easy to keep in the fridge
  • flexible depending on what you have at home
  • and filling enough to feel like a proper meal

You can prep multiple jars ahead of time, make them sweeter or less sweet, keep them simple, or overload them with toppings depending on the mood.

No complicated rules required.
